Medicare Basics

If you are collecting Social Security benefits, you are automatically enrolled in Medicare Part A starting the first day of the month you turn 65.  If you are NOT collecting Social Security Benefits at the time you are eligible, you have 7 month period to sign up, known as the Initial Enrollment Period.
